Today I will post pictures for the 18th. This is our second day at Yellowstone. The fog was still hanging over the tops of the hills.
A nice herd of elk.
Their coats are certainly ragged..
This guy was hanging around the parking lot. There was a park ranger standing around close to him to make sure the people didn't get to close and vice versa You might be amazed how stupid people can be about getting to close to wild animals.
We travel down the road and yell out the window, "A moose, just show us a moose!!!" Well, lo and behold, we finally got our wish. 2 of them.
It took me a long time to find this bear. There were 20 people looking at him and I looked and looked. Oh, that tiny black bear butt there?
This little guy popped up on the road in front of us as we were coming down the hill. He crossed to the other side, sniffed around a lot and headed back across the road. He had the traffic tied up until the girl park ranger drove up the hill. flipped a u 'ie and drove him off of the road and back into the bush. He just sauntered along, not in any hurry and while everyone waited for him to get off of the road so traffic could flow again, he crouched and pooped on the side of the road. I just laughed out loud.
It's hard to tell but this is a sand hill crane on her nest.
We saw a couple looking up the mountains. This is what they saw.
It was a wonderful day.
Thanks for looking.
Love to all.
