Hi all, today is May 19th and we have just left Cody, Wy and heading to Sheridan.  It has been a very busy 3 days, early mornings and late nights, hence the excuse for no blog :).  I am writing this is the car flying down the road as we speak....since I can't seem to get it done at night.
We left Pasco around 7 a.m. on the 16th and headed for Butte, Montana with a stop or two inbetweeen of course.  We went over Lolo pass, running in and out of rain and cold weather.  Took pictures of the Clearwater Creek.  A beautiful creek and beautiful scenery.  Started over Lolo and came into Montana past Lolo Hot Springs.  On down the road found plenty of old barns, green hills and fields.  Got a picture of and really pretty osprey in the rain.  If you look close, if I can get pictures up, you can see water droplets on his feathers.  On down the road in the pouring rain we headed onto Butte.  Got there about 7:30, checked into motel and then headed out to check the surroundings.  Found the mountains covered with cloud and fog.  They have a Madonna on the top of one of the mountains but she was covered most of the time with clouds.
Up early the next morning and heading to Yellowstone through the West entrance.  We traveled around the lower part of Yellowstone, around EarthQuake Lake to the Yellowstone lake.  I will have pics of Quake Lake and will find you some history of that tragic event that took place there, in case you don't know.  Yellowstone Lake was frozen over, imagine that!!!!  Found lots of snow and a few snow flurries.  Found a few elk and some buffalo but not much of anything else.  We came out of the North entrance into a Yellowstone tourist trap town and ate an expensive, phewy dinner.  Marty had a raw hamburger she had to send back,  I had brisket tacos (?).   Headed on into Bozeman.  It started raining so hard it was hard for Marty to keep the car between the lines but she did a good white knuckle job and got us through just fine.
From Bozeman we went back down to Yellowstone North entrance.  Saw an elk at the visitor station.  Took picture of Sulphur flats and then headed to Cooke City.  Along the way we saw an elk on the edge of the lake.  As a side note you must know that Marty is always calling for moose and none ever show up, it is a small obsession for her. 😁  So, going on down the road she sees to more elk.  I take a look, they look pretty dark for elk, and lo and behold we found 2 moose grazing around.  We have of course taken pictures of mountains, hills, meadows, lots of snow.  On farther up the road we see a crowd.  The are watching a mommy bear and baby.  All I saw was bear butt heading up the hill.  Farther up we find another crowd leaving.  I asked the ranger what we missed, it was more bear.  But I thought I had a glimpse of it so we went up the road and u turned, down the road and u turned and up again and u turned  Didn't find anything, however as we were coming down the hill a coyote crossed the street, sniffed around and crossed in front of us again and started walking in front of the car so we had to go really slow and follow him.  There was a line up of cars behind us and the lady ranger coming up on the other side u turned and chased him off of the road.
We saw buffalo, antelope, chipmunk, mountain goats, elk, bear.
  It was a full day.

I will post some pics tomorrow night if we land in a decent place.
