My how time does fly. The winter here has been something else this year. We were 2 inches of snow short of making a new record. And it's still hanging around. Winter blahs make you lazy.
So, I pick us up at October 5th in Delta, Pa. We have been staying home with Marty's mom so Vanessa can have a short vacation. So this morning we are off. We went to pick up Marty's niece Emily and off to Shady Maple Smorgasbord for lunch. But, we got pictures before we got there. Hum, imagine that.
This was a young woman driving this team of horses.
That is tobacco
drying in the Quonset hut.
We came across this old mill between Lampeter and Strasburg on Village Rd.
This was a bridge across a creek on the back side of the mill. That would be Marty. The water was really high. It was only a couple of inches away from the bottom of the bridge, and moving fast.
Then we went to the Strasburg Rail Road
He was standing on the outside of the gift shop.
You can rent a railroad car to stay in over night.
They gave rides in this big buggy.
And it is Amish country.
Lunch Time
This place was huge with a huge gift shop on the lower level. And food galore. I had
Roast beer, bbq pork, mashed and gravy, potato stuffing, beets, dried corn, lima beans, sauerkraut, rolls, clam chowder, beef brisket, crab claws (don't have those, yuk), carrots, scalloped apples, pumpkin pie, bread pudding with whip cream, DIET cola and coffee. Of course they were all little portions or I would have never gotten all of that down. It was lovely, except the crab claws.
We went through Intercourse, Blue Ball, New Holland, took Emily home and home for us to Delta.
Nice day, nice company, nice meal.
Until next time
Love to all
Great Photo's . Ok I am not hungry anymore. The food was good though. We had some good meals back there.
