We stayed in Wichita Fall last night. I tried to write a blog but hit the wrong button and lost it all so I just gave up for the night. We put in quite a few miles today. Made it out of Texas and landed in New Mexico. I have to say that trip was pretty boring.
Did see some Texan cotton, picked up a little and got pictures of the huge bales they squish it all into. Quite a few old, or run down or uninhabitable buildings but hard to take pictures at 75 miles an hour. Did get a few.
So tonight I will show you Brownell Memorial Park and Carillon Tower outside of Morgan City, Louisiana. A nice little park with a tower that is 106 feet tall. It has 61 bronze bells that were cast in Holland. The bells play two selections every 30 minutes. There is a nature walk and bird sanctuary.
We visited with the very nice lady that was the caretaker. The park opens at 10 a.m. While we were waiting for her to come we saw these little critters come around the corner and toward us. Three disappeared into the woods and the 4th one kept coming toward us.
Come to find out, the lady feeds them every day and I think they confused us with her and were looking for their daily hand out.
I know that is a lot of raccoon pics but actually that is only about a third of the ones I took :)
We saw a lemon tree and got to pick one.
We found a banana tree. We didn't pick anything, just looked. It was pretty cool.

The tower was beautiful. And the sound was marvelous.
This gentleman was Doctor Brownell (Doc)
He fed the raccoons every day.
This was inside the office.
And this was just cool stuff hanging around!!
Love to all
Until next time
