This day would be June 8th, Saturday. ..Sunny and 80 degrees at noon. Marty and I headed out...
Where, I have no clue!!!!
Did I tell you that lower PA. doesn't have a flat road? Well, I was right, up and down and up and down hills and valleys and vales. Not sure what a vale is but it sounded good, didn't it? It is so green here. If you have been watching you know that all of the houses have 22 acres of grass all the way around them. Let me show you this, and my face is green with envy. Wow!
This would be my house. :(
I talked to a lady at the ice cream shop who was from Washington. We have talked to more people that came from home. She said she found it hard to make friends here because everyone was related to everyone else and they just stayed in there own little circle. She wasn't far from wrong!!
So we stopped to take a picture of this barn yesterday,
and there was a jogger coming up the road. I pointed my camera at him in jest so he stopped by the car window and posed for me. Who said PA wasn't a friendly place???
On down the road we go...…..
Susquehanna River
Conestoga River Park. A really nice park.
We tried to find the Conejohela Wildlife Managemant but we never found it so on to Safe Harbor down the road.
Safe Harbor Canal
Stairway to no where
We found this sign for Shenks Wildflower Fields. It was turn to the right, so we did. And we had to go through this cool tunnel.
The road was extremely bumpy and lumpy and dirt but it was pretty cool. We went and went but didn't find any wildflowers and it was 7 p.m. so we thought we had better turn around and come back out.
We saw this little lady. Look at the length of her nose.
Not a good pic but she was hiding.
Then we headed for Pequa. Down to the river. Must be a good place to fish because it was full of fishermen.
Then we found this covered bridge but we have been there before.
Smoke on the water
Until next time
Love to all
