Left Spearfish, SD this morning. Started out through the Black Hills of SD and got to talking about the winery we had visited before. Where in SD was it? Well by golly, it's just down the road kinda on our way :):). Shall we go? Ah, sure, why not. So we turn right and head to Hills, SD and Prairie Berry Winery.
It is starting to rain, no wait, that stuff is snow. In the middle of May? Yes it is.
It snowed all the way to the winery. I called to make sure they were still going to be there. She said maybe, depending on how hard it continued to snow and it was pretty bad there. So, we took a chance and continued on and thank goodness they were still open. We had to go 26 miles the other direction to get there. What we do for a bottle of sunshine!!!
We picked out a couple of bottles to take home😛 and then headed back toward Black Hills. It snowed all the way back, also. We followed a snow plow all the way in and out. It got pretty thick for awhile. But we made it out safely with all bottles intact. We had lunch at the winery, and once we left the highway to the winery and back on the highway heading for Mitchell, SD it started to rain like mad. It rained all the rest of the way across South Dakota.
The pics are not quality by any means, it was shot through the windshield at 60 mph with the wipers going. The ponds and lakes were overflowing just about everywhere we went. The sign in the 3rd one up should have been on dry ground, would be my guess, but it is in the middle of a lake.
Rain and snow, rain and snow.
Love to all
