Today is October 9th
It will be a busy day!
We have traveled 4499 miles before we get in the car. We're off to Gettysburg today. It is cloudy, windy and 56 degrees. The boys tell me it is raining really hard at home. It will do that for quite a few days, we haven't had weather like that for a couple of years, and it has been pretty cold. Anyway, onward and upward.
We go out on the back roads through Shrewsbury, don't you just love that name. Did you see the tv show Cadfael with Derek Jacobi? He was a monk in Shrewsbury but that was England. I digress!!
I have a kitty file. These are Pennsylvania kitties.
I apparently forgot to turn on location so I think these buildings were around Shrewsbury.
This was on a side road we turned down. They decorate the speed signs with weeds :)
These houses were on a curve on the highway (road) we were going down.
Check out the stairs on this lovely house.
A lot of over growth around here. I think it might be Kudzu.
This is the Stone Mill. A café at the bottom on the front side facing the road. It had a little stream and park in front. The held parties, birthdays, you have you, there.
And a mushroom
This is the rock across from the building that housed a civil war hospital. Imagine union soldiers walking around it and on the ground that you see. I find the thought of it all a little overwhelming.
These were taken through the wire on the windows of the hospital at the lower level, half basement. Look at the size of the cots, and the curtains were used as walls between the beds where the wounded would lay. Part of the pictures are taken in front of pretty dirty glass windows.
Tomorrow I will show you heading into Gettysburg. We also toured the Jenny Lind house, but it is a lot to see and it is late. So here I will leave you for now.
Until next time
Love to all
Wonderful Job. Great Photo's.
