We left Sheridan, Wyoming this morning in the clouds and rain. As we were driving down the road the clouds hung over the land so low you could reach out and touch them. It was absolutely beautiful.
The clouds covered the mountain peaks.
Then all of a sudden this black beauty snuck up on us. It reminded me of the storm clouds you see storm chases chasing. It kept creeping and creeping and then we were in the clouds, I think you call it fog. It lasted for about 20 miles coming off of the mountain.
So we went 193 miles and never veered off course. Then we see Ranch A Historical Site and low and behold it's a dirt road. We went down Sand Creek Road.
We checked into a motel early today so we wouldn't have to find one in the middle of the night. It is raining out. Went to Mt. Rushmore but it was socked in with fog so we couldn't see anything. We will go back tomorrow if the sun is shining.
Gas is pretty cheap. We got some for $2.14. And I don't mean to be crass but I have to say, they must build their potties 12 inches off the ground. They seem to keep getting lower all the time, which is really hard for an old lady with bad knees.
Well, once again it is midnight. So I will leave you here. We went to Bears USA, lots of animals. I will try and post those soon.
Good night and love to you all.
